The state of psychoanalysis and the paths of the unconscious in the modern world
Since its beginning, psychoanalysis has been not only a method of therapy, but also a living discourse that shapes ideas about the subject, language, desire, and the social imaginary. However, today, in the era of neuroscience, neural networks, and communication algorithms, the question arises: where is psychoanalysis now, and where is it headed?
Participants will discuss whether it retains its status as critical knowledge about the subject, capable of resisting the reductionism of modern science and objectification in the techniques of psychotherapy. How is the perception of psychoanalysis changing in culture, between academic marginality and a new surge of interest among younger generations? Can we talk about a return of interest to the unconscious in art, cinema, politics, and digital practices?
At the round table, we will discuss the current state of affairs and find an answer to the question: from rethinking the legacy of Freud, Lacan, and other psychoanalysts in the 21st century to the emergence of new forms of analytical practice in the digital age.
